The Cassie Hines Shoe Cancer Foundation (CHSCF) will host its annual, “Dance in These Shoes,” fundraiser beginning at 6 p.m., March 19 at the Concorde Inn of Clinton Township.
It’s a gala affair to benefit young adults battling cancer and in need of the many resources necessary to survive it. So, flag down your fairy godmother and dust off your (glass) dancing shoes because this year’s theme was inspired by Cinderella.
“The basic premise of the movie is about a young adult whose life has been filled with difficult challenges that are beyond her control. Instead of letting these events turn her bitter, (Cinderella) remains hopeful,” said Karen Hines of Shelby Township, who started the foundation with her husband, Christopher Hines, a month after their daughter Cassie, died of a rare form of kidney cancer, on March 1, 2012. “At CHSCF, we offer the same kind of hopeful support to young adults battling cancer through our mission.”
Tickets are $100. That includes an enchanting evening featuring dinner, drinks and dancing that ends at midnight. There will be a 50/50 raffle and large item raffle including a free hotel room at the Concorde Inn (rooms also will be available for a discounted price).
